Applicants are responsible for registering for the GED test online at www.ged.com
. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally withdrawn from school. Valid driver’s licenses, valid passports, military IDs, or other forms of government-issued (national or foreign) identification that show name, address, date of birth, signature, and photograph are all acceptable forms of identification.
The cost for a full test battery is $120.00. The cost for an individual subject test is $30.00. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request to individuals who qualify.
The test time for all four GED
tests is approximately 8 hours. It is recommended to take the test in more than one session. It is a series of four tests with questions covering language arts, mathematics, social studies and science.
Individuals that pass a GED Ready test may be eligible for a scholarship to take the actual GED test at no charge. Please contact the regional office at (804) 733-2670 for more information.
Test centers are open in Dinwiddie, Petersburg, Emporia and Chesterfield.
