Education is the key to success. Open the door to your future! Classes meet during the day and/or evening and have open entry and exit. Adults enter at any class meeting and finish when they meet their goals. All students are assessed for their ability in reading and math. Individuals that enroll in adult education classes will receive access to study online in addition to classes and will be eligible to receive FREE GED Ready vouchers ($32 value). Individuals that pass a GED Ready test may be eligible for a scholarship to take the actual GED test at no charge.
We provide adult education classes in Colonial Heights, Dendron, Dinwiddie, Emporia, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George, Surry and Waverly.
Adult Education classes will begin the week of September 8th. Eligibility documentation is required for enrollment.
Individuals need to bring one of the following documents with them to enroll in an adult education class: US Passport or US Passport Card;
US Birth Certificate;
Driver's License (Real ID);
Driver's License (Standard) or ID Card WITH Social Security Card;
Military ID Card, Military Dependent, or Military Retiree ID Card;
Permanent Resident Card (Green Card);
Employment Authorization Document;
Certificate of Naturalization;
Certificate of Citizenship;
Consular Report of Birth Abroad.

NURSE AIDE CLASS: We are still working to secure funding for a Nurse Aide training class to be held in 2026 at the VA Career Works Center in Prince George. Please continue to check this website for pre-registration information.
*Must meet eligibility requirements to qualify for free training. For residents of Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Emporia, Greensville, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George, Surry and Sussex.
Emporia/Greensville Residents - Public transportation is available in Emporia for $1 per ride from Greensville Emporia Transit.
